hi
we are in the process of converting table in foxpro to oracle database through a text file.we have 2 fields one for date and the other for time in foxpro.but in oracle,we have only 1 (corresponding)field with datatype as date in which we have to combine the values in those 2 fields in foxpro.
date field in foxpro + time field in foxpro = datetime field in oracle with date datatype.
thanks in advance
nithya

How are you loading the data into Oracle? If you are going to use SQL*Loader, I might think about loading the data into a temp table with two fields of type VARCHAR2. I would then write a query that would take the two fields, concatenate them together, then convert them to a DATE datatype, and append them to your destination table. Terry M. Hoey
