i'm trying to build an interactive cd that has video clips on it that's compatible on a mac and a pc. i'm mac literate and am having lots of problems trying to build it on a pc. i would much rather be able to build it on the mac, save it as a projector but be able to pop the cd in a pc, click run and have it work. PLEASE HELP ME!! I NEED THIS BY MONDAY MORNING!! thanks in advance!

Deb,

When making a cd rom for both platforms you have a few minor problems you face, which are as follows, Fonts, Movies format, and projectors.

What i have found is that when you make a multi platform interactive cd is that you have to embed the fonts within the movie as cast members so that you dont have a font issue, otherwise it wont be able to find that specific font and use the closest possible one it thinks may work, then you get a few problems.
Next is the movie format, i have in the past used avi and mpeg with no problems.
When making projectors you have to put the original director files you have made on the macintosh on to the pc then make a projector on both systems and then burn that to disc, pref on a mac as you can see both file formats and you have to write separate .inf files if you want it to autoboot also, but make sure you write the ini files on the right systems, eg autoboot cd ini file on a pc and mac on a mac. Otherwise they wont autoboot.
Apart from that everything should be fine, but before you had it up make sure that everything you made on the macintosh comes out exactly the same in the pc version, sometimes you get some strange results.

Goodluck and i hope ive been a help?

I get this error message when I make a projector from some work I have developed on the MAC. For some reason, it gives me this! Does anyone ANYONE know how to solve this? I have tried all I know.

Thanks!

Unable to load movie playlist. Does the .ini file exist? It must contain a section '[movies]' with an entry 'Movie01=Pathname.dir'
