Sorry, can't help you much with HP, but try posting in forum80 (HP:HP-UX), I'm sure someone there will be able to help, or check out the FAQs in that forum in case there is anything useful there.
Incidentally, 24:00 is actually 00:0) as far as cron is concerned, and I'm assuming you'll be using the latter for your backup. Hope this helps.
