Hi there,
Ive installed Small business server 2003 - DOne all the wizards and everything - now i need to connect the pcs to the server - the cabling has been done and all the clients connected via a hub. How do i set the network up to the server (software) - I tried entering the domain but it says it could not find the domain I entered..... please help - this is the first time I've done something like this and all our systems are down at this moment....

Thanks

Which OSs are you using on the clients ? -> I assume XP
How many PCs exactly do you have on that 1 hub ? -> I assume no more than 5 or so.
Did you change the DNS of the clients to the IP of the server and obviously did you install AD and DNS on the server ?
You should be able to ping the server both by name and IP.
(use nslookup to test DNS -> ea nslookup 192.169.2.1)
If DNS is installed the servers DNS on its own network card should point to itself (127.0.0.1)

Are your clients getting IPs from an external DHCP server/Static IPs or is your server handing out the IPs ?
Best would be to set it so the server hands out the IPs using DHCP. (see that no other dedicated DHCP server is giving out IPs or you won't know who'll get what range ...)

Win Server 2k3 unlike most "normal" windows OSs isn't really that straight forward :) I'm pretty convinced though your problem lies either into actual subnetwork IP's (not in the same range without router) or DNS problem.

If after fixing DNS stuff it still doesn't work, you should post a few client ethernet card configs (post entire "ipconfig /all") and the server ethernet card config.
