URGENT!!! having trouble to install mysql on a Sun Solaris box

I'm having trouble to install mysql database server on a SUN Solaris box. The error message is 'Directory checksum error'. Based on the documen on the

http://www.mysql.com.

This error caused by default tar program on the Sun box, and it gives a link to get GNU Tar(gtar). However, I could not install the gtar this site provided. I download tar1.13 version from

http://www.gnu.org

and I still got the same error.

Any input will be appreciated!

well this is not much a mysql error ;-)

try to untar it on any other machine, gzip it there and upload the gzip package to your sun station, i think gzip should run fine there
