Hi,
I don't know why this stuff keeps happening to me. But if anyone can shed any light on this I would be grateful.
One SQL 2000 database, serves both Impromptu and ReportNet. IQDs created in Impromptu serve the Powerplay cubes.
Server Admin have asked me to change the password on the SQL database for the "sa" user. OK, I think - just have to change all catalogs, all .mdl files to .pyi and reportnet data source.
Everythig works for Imp and PP!
There are currently 4 data sources in the Framework manager (4 different databases). And only one of them will accept the new password. They all report that the username is invalid when you test them, so OK - we assume they know that it changed. The username and password dialog appears...log on as "sa" with appropriate password and 3 fail, repeating the dialog box, the other one accepts it!!!!
"Sa" is a system adminsitrator with access to all databases.
Change the password back and test all data sources and they all now work again.
Any ideas - is there some cache I have to clear out perhaps?
Thanks
Jeannette
