** URGENT** BLANK SCREEN ON STARTUP

We have recently promoted our W2K Server to a PDC with Active Directory. All went fine but when aksed to reboot now when we log in it just sits there - a blank screen and a white cursor. I can get into Safe mode (it takes ages to go in) but I guess something has gone wrong! (Ha!)

This is really urgent.

Any help would be appreciated.

whilst in safe mode have you looked at the event logs to see if there any pointers as to what is happening?

have you installed terminal services on the machine and if so can you log in that way?
