Urgent : Alter table move

Hi,

Just wanted to know , can alter table move command can be used to move to the same tablespace and get rid of fragmentation ? i.e. if the table is in say tablespace named users and I issue the command eg: alter table t move tablespace users; Please help.

The alter table move command does not reduce fragmentation it is strictly a db block move. As far as moving the table to the same tablespace, I'm not sure if that is possible. I do know that a alter table move command will require a rebuild for all the indexes on that table.

To reduce fragmentation and maintain contraints I would suggest using export/import.
