Hi,

I'm not quite sure which forum to post this in. I have a database on SQL Server 2000. I have created views of each of the tables in the database. The views are read only. I can access these views through Access 2002 by linking tables through an ODBC data source.
In the table and the view, on SQL Server, i have a column of numeric data type. When i view the data in the table and the view, from SQL Server, the data type is fine. However, when i access the view on Access, the data is shown as currency data type.

Any help? I really need urgent help with this.

Thanks

:)

Numeric to currency is the ODBC-to-Jet Data Type Mapping For SQL Server. See the article at the following link.

Have you considered creating an Access Project which will use native SQL Server for the database back end and bypass JET and ODBC? This will eliminate the data type mapping problem.

If you want to get the best answer for your question read faq183-874 and faq183-3179.
