Just hooked up a 750W APC UPS, and loaded the Powerchute shutdown software. Used the USB cable to connect computer to UPS, which the software installation recognised ok.

When I look in the list of applications, I see no programme or group that I recognise as being acquainted with "Powerchute". In Windows Explorer I see the Powerchute folder under Program Files, but there's no executable to run.

Where do I find it? How do I adjust the settings and tell the software to close down the PC in the event of a mains failure before the UPS's battery runs out? Since the geographical location is much prone to 5 or 10 minute power outages, I don't want the computer being shut down unnecessarily after 1 or 2 minutes, etc.

There appears to be absolutely nothing relating to the workings of Powerchute in the manual or on the CD...

Good as the knowledge base may be, this doesn't answer my fundamental question!

User installed the software, and I have also tried reinstalling it, but we are unable to see any icon or executable installed anywhere. Where would we ordinarily expect to find this please?
