UPS making weird sounds

My UPS has started to make weird sounds today. I don´t really know how to describe it. It sounds really similar to a camera flash charging or night vision googles powering up.

It had never made this kind of noise and I´m getting quite worried; no alarms or malfunction indicators are on, but still...

Anyone knows what it may be?

Bad sounds are...well, bad. UPSes should not make a sound, unless they have cooling fans. The sound you describe is that of a capacitor being charged then discharged I believe.

How old and how big is you UPS? Might be time for a new unit. In your case a simple battery replacement might not solve the issue.

And...night vision goggles powering up??? coperoco, is there anything in your background we should know?
