UPS Battery Testing

Am running a MGE Comet S31 UPS and have been so for last 3 1/2 years. Is now showing a battery warning and I'd like to get any information on how to test the batteries to check their life/levels.

Can anyone provide any help on this? What battery meter should I get and how should I go about testing?

Any help appreciated...!
