upper function with a substitution variable

Hi Everybody,

I use the following syntax:

upper(a.descr)='&descr'

In the table I have a description field with a string written in capital letter

Whenever I get a prompt and put it in capital letters I receive an expected result

However when I use small letters as a response to a prompt I have no rows selected

My purpose is to get a result regardless of whatever user put (capital or small letter)

What I am doing wrong?
