upon reset/upgrade sms exec will not start

We have a single site single server situation. PRIME is IT. We were running SMS 2.0 SP1 OK. Addition of some W2K potential clients, etc caused us to upgrade to SP2.<br><br>Things look OK on completion.&nbsp;&nbsp;THE SMS admin console looks ok ...&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;EXCEPT&nbsp;&nbsp;... ONLY the &quot;component manager&quot; is INSTALLED. Discovery, etc etc etc DO NOT WORK!<br>We discovered that the &quot;bootstrap service starts and exits briefly, then only then Component Manager Service remains.<br><br>LOGs, other advice from forums, and error messages, etc etc&nbsp;&nbsp;point to the lack of proper security for the componenc manager servive to set up the rest of the site. YET..... The SMSService account exists with Admin and DomainADMIN&nbsp;&nbsp;permissions and WITHprivelidge to LOG ON AS SERVICE. (Some evidence leads to an idea that this trouble started BEFORE the SP2 upgrade? What did we do wrong???
