A bit of background;
We currently upload Macros to the printers, these are *.prn files created from Word.
These are templates for sales orders, purchase orders, invoices etc. The print file created by the business system will have the PCL code to call up the correct Macro.
We currently use HP Resource manager to upload these Macros to the flash memory of the printers. The problem is this piece of software is unreliable and isnt XP compatible, the biggest problem is it doesnt show the printers on our WAN so we cannot upload the macros to remote sites.
I think hp resource manager is now discontinued by HP, the last version was 1.2
Does anyone know of an alternative method to upload to the printer? Possibly just direct access by the IP Address?
If it helps the models of the printers are LJ 4000, 4050, 5n, 8150.
Thanks in advance,
