Hello,

Playing with our 9650 phones and wondering how to upload images to the 9650. I modified the 46xxsettings.txt file to look like below. I used the AVaya USB companion to include a jpg photo. I rebooted and plugged the USB into the phone and transfered the files. However, I cant figure out how to display the photos.

Thanks,

Joe

################ AVAYA SCREEN SAVER SETTINGS ###################
##
## Idle time before the Avaya Screen Saver is activated (minutes).
## Number of minutes without phone activity to wait
## before the screen saver is activated. A value of 0 means
## the screen saver is never activated. The default is 240 minutes.
## This parameter does not apply to 16cc SIP phones.
##
## Note:
## This setting activates the Avaya Screen Saver which is
## different than the "idle screen" accessed by WMLIDLEURI.
## While it is possible to use WMLIDLEURI as an "idle
## screen", it is recommended that the SCREENSAVERON
## timer and the Avaya Screen Saver display be used for
## screen saver purposes.
## The available range is 0-999.
##
SET SCREENSAVERON 240
##
## The filename of a valid JPEG customized screen saver image.
## 0-32 ASCII characters.
## Note: This parameter is supported on H.323 and Its not been
## supported for SIP 96XX Releases of telephones

SET SCREENSAVER IMG_3200.jpg

The image only shows up after the number of minutes you have set as the "screensaveron" value. (in your case 4 hours.)

If you want the image to show up as background, you have to load that from the USB stick directly to the phone.

Thanks again Dufus2506.. Very cool. Besides the four hour setting (now 1 minute), I didnt realize the mem stick needs to stay in the phone. Is there a way to remove it and still see the pics?

Thanks

I don't think so.

The USB app is intended to make a "traveling profile". The phone registers as a particular extension only as long as the USB memory stick is connected.

It's not generally intended to be used as the normal method of registering a phone. It's really intended to be used for people who travel from office to office, and would like the convenience of having their extension available in another location.

Thanks dufus2506. That makes sense. I have these working great now and you have taught me a lot the past couple days. The manual makes much more sense to me know as well. I wish I can buy you a beer, but since I cant, I have made a $$ contibution to this site. (and a star of coarse) Sorry it cant be more. Cheers,

Joe
