Hi

Please help me...

I need to know this, but Im still new in the whole process.
My boss have asked me to upload data from Ms Access db to Oracle 8i db.

User is capturing the data from Ms Access on his workstation, now we want to upload that data capture to Ms Access and upload it to Oracle.

Can somebody tell me on how to do that? Im really struggling a lot on this.

Hi. This is a fairly common question - see Thread186-1058824 for some sample responses.

Thank you very much I will go and try all these examples, and comeback on you for the feedback.

thank you :)

9911782,

The examples listed in thread186-1058824 are certainly the easiest way to accomplish this. They are also the slowest. If performance becomes an issue, I would recommend using access's TransferText command to export the access data to a text file. Then use oracle's sql*loader to import that text file into oracle. With our data, this was 15 times faster than using odbc! I can give you examples if odbc proves to be too slow, but otherwise I would suggest you use the odbc examples listed in the thread above.

You can generate an ODBC with Access and vincule the Oracle Tables.
Need the oracle client and ODBC driver for oracle 817 in the access pc.

Next do a query and insert the data.
