Upload to Testing Server

I cant find the answer to this question anywhere, I think I may be missing something obvious.

I've defined a testing server, which is local, My PC is also running Apache, MySQL and PHP.
I also have my trusty remote site, which I FTP to.

I normally edit my files then upload to the remote server to test.
Now I'd like to choose to upload them to the testing server first, without sending them to the remote server. How can I do this?

Have the files located in the local server space and edit directly from there.

Or set the path in Apache to where you have your pages.

Hi,
I've set it up and it works fine.
But how come Dreamweaver allows you to browse the testing file structure, like it does the local and remote file structure?
Isn't there a way to have seperate local files and testing files, uploading to the testing server when you like?
