upload outlook address list

I have an app that allows users to upload addresses in .csv format but for most users, exporting addresses into the right format is too difficult.

Is there a way for ASP.NET to read a client's outlook address list directly?

Would you WANT a page having access to your address book? It might work if you ask the users to change the trust for your site, but it would probably still be better to create a utility for the user to download instead.

What I had in mind is that the user would upload their outlook address book and then the app would read it.

That shouldn't be a problem (if they explicitly choose to upload it).

The File Field control found on the HTML tab of the toolbox is what you want for uploading (which you probably know already).

Googling "CDO" or "Outlook Automation" should get you started for info on how to programmatically read the address book.
