Hello!

I'm new to mySQL, but used to SQL Server.....which I'd be using DTS for this whole process. I'm glad to have to learn to do it with mySQL though.

I have an Access .mdb file, that I need to upload from my local machine to our hosted mySQL site via BlueHost.

I'll be using phpMyAdmin. It looks like the only way is to import into an existing table is from a text file.

Are there any other ways to take the .mdb file and copy it up, and into the mySQL table?

I got a converter tool, Access2MySQLPro 5, which has 10 trial conversions. Didn't know if anyone else has better ideas?

Basically, I want to take this .mdb file data and put it on the mySQL table.

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies!

Exporting the .mdb file to a .txt file with delimiters of ";" worked out fine. That was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be!

Thanks again for the help!

If you're already using access you can also create an ODBC connection to your mysql database. Create the table in mysql. Then make a link to that table in access. At that point you can use Access queries to populate the linked table just like it was another access table. Doing it this way you can also perform functions/conversions on your Access data if it needs any massaging before/as it is inserted into your mysql table...

not wishing to hijack this thread ... do you know of any solution that handles memo fields with embedded ole objects? i'm desperate to get several thousand photos out of an old mdb. i don't have the ole server registered anymore (disappeared with an old version of MS Office i think).
