I am new and a bit confused. Please set me straight. Is it possible to upload a file or picture to MYSQL or do you just loads its file location?

You would probabbly have to use a datatype of longblob which allows up to 4gb in a single column, enough for most image !, alternatviy you could upload the file to filestore and put a link to that file in the database.
