I have a cisco 2924 XL En switch.

I have configured 2 VLAN's

VLAN1 has port 1 - 19
VLAN2 has port 20 - 24

I have a router 2611 that I want to use to route between the two VLAN's

VLAN 1 has IP 192.168.x.x
and VLAN 2 has 64.56.111.x

on the 64.56.111.x which is basicaly the VLAN2 i want to connect a adsl modem I have. The modem doesn't have an IP attached to it I guess so when I attach it to the port on the catalyst it doesn't light up the port. Do I have to configure the port as an uplink port and if so how do I do this.

I know this stuff works because i have a hub that I used to simulate the VLAN2 and everything works ok.

I know that hubs and switch work different but it's been a hard weekend and I can't think at all today.

Thanks in advance!!!

You probably need to use an X-Over cable to connect the switch the ADSL modem..

Give that a shot..
