In my environment we have 70+ Servers. They have many varied BackupExec Versions from 7.0 to 8.6. We bought a site liscence for 8.6, and I want to install it on all the servers I can. I know better than to try it on any with agents until after we buy new liscences for the 8.6 version of said agents. But I want to upgrade all of the other servers. How do I do this? I want it to import all the old media library information, maybe even the job schedules and selections.

I would try upgrading the 7.0 server to 7.3 (which can be downloaded from the Veritas Website), then install 8.6 ontop of the 7.3 version.
That should retain your settings.
You can run 8.6 in Evaluation mode which will give you 60 days trial. This way you can test all your options for 60 days and add the serial keys later.

The only option the eval does not unlock is the IDR (Intelligent Disaster Recovery) option.
