HELP HELP HELP

I tried last night to upgrade Win95b to Win98, bet you knew there was a BUT coming........

A message similar to this was displayed
:- The o/s on this system cannot be upgraded

Is there a patch that I can get to enable this to work.

I am upgrading as I bought a freecom cd writer that will not work when connected to the USB on my Thinkpad as the drivers are not supported in Win95b is there a patch for this which will save me reformatting C:\ to put Win98 on !

Thanks

Max

it sounds like you are using the oem cd instead of a reatil cd of windows 98 if you just bought it take it back and get the right cd if you can take it back a work around is to rename win.com

Thanks

A couple of people have told me to reformat C:\ is this wise ?

it's one way to fix it so you can install but then you lose every thing that is not backed up.
