I have been thinking about getting a machine with Windows 7 Pro but have couple questions. The sales guy at a local store mentioned that all of my software (runs on Win XP Pro) won't run on Windows 7 (64bit).

I don't need to run XP mode on a Windows 7. I want to utilize the 8gig ram that is on the machine.

The applications in question are Sql Server 2005, Oracle 10g, Eclipse Ganymede, and Adobe CS4.

Will these applications won't run on a 64bit Windows 7 Pro OS?

thanks in advance

Adobe -
Eclipse -
SQL -
Oracle - this may the sticky one.
I would say all work but Oracle. You could run the oracle in a win xp VM until they decide to fix it. But nowadays with Oracle/Java together, thats like sworn enemies of Microsoft...

You could run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor on your XP machine. It wont help much with the hardware side of things unless you intend attaching some of XP's peripherals to Windows 7 but it should help you with your installed software and compatibility.
