I'm in the process of moving to a SQL Server 2005 server running Progression 76.400a. I assume I need to install SQL 2005 client software on each workstation. Do I need to delete the SQL 2000 client first? Do I need anything installed on the 2005 client other than "Client Components"? Installing 2005 client seems to be much slower than SQL 2000 client..... Anyone have any thoughts?

I have done this several times and have not had the complaint about being slower. I would remove the SQL 2000 before installing the SQL 2005 client. I never install only client components. There are some functions that do not work with only the components. I do not register the SQL server and I keep the SA password secure so I am not worried about unauthorized access to the database.
