The Software Environments documentation under Application Servers is incorrect.

It states for "IBM WebSphere 4.0.4 thru 4.0.7, to contact IBM for the latest JVM (rel 2004) if you are using the JVM that originally shipped with the product." The newest JVM is SP7.

Keep the JVM that worked with your previous install!! Do not use SP7. It will cause CRN to coredump. Repeatedly. From logging a case, my company is not the first to experience this issue with SP7.
