Using the "Caledonia upgrade guide to 7", I upgraded all my domains to 7.0.3 from 6.5.7.

For my DOMAINS I did the recommended recover/validate ... the RECOVERs were SLOW in my posts/regions !!!!! About a hour each!!!!!

Now doing the post office REBUILDS, as recommended in the guide. I have 19 regional/post post offices to rebuild. I can't imagine waiting 19 hours for them to complete.

Can't I copy thier domain db here (locally), do the rebuild here (locally), and then replace the wphost.db file in the region/post?

personally i dont see the need to rebuild the postoffice after an upgrade. (i only do a rebuild if i'm changing address and that's about it)

as long as you have updated the nlm's and the template files - then that should be adequate - once reloaded you will see the db level pop up

Thanks ... that's what I think I'll do. Just leave it at that. Copying them to my location will be faster, but I'd have to change links and change them back and check if they are correct, etc, ...

I did this for a domain and I'm STILL trying to make the domain see the the original unc path (when I want to display the domain objectit is still asking be for the temp path).

Thanks ...

When you upgrade, if you did it correctly, the Post Office should kick off a recover process automatically that updates the database to the new version, so you shouldn't have to do it manually.
