Hi there folks,

I downloaded the source of the new ( =! ) Apache 1.3.28 to my Solaris x86 9.0 server ( which had Apache 1.3.26 ) up and running for some time.

So, I configured the source and complied it ( ./configure , make , make install ) and all went well ( I stoped the server apache .26 server before all this ) .

Everything went ok and I fire the Apache server and .. it's the .26 that's running, not the .28

Ideas ?

Sorry, my mistake.

The 1.3.26 and 1.3.28 have diferent directories.

The good thing is that .26 is running ok

The bad thing is that .28 cant be started.

Here's the error when I try to fire up the new version (.28) :

# /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start
Killed
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

But if I try to start the old version everything is ok :

# /usr/apache/bin/apachectl start
/usr/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd started
#
