I will be upgrading an F-40 from AIX 4.3.1 to 4.3.3
Is it better to get into service mode and read from the CD to do a MIGRATION or just do a 'smitty update_all'.
If service mode is better, how do you get into service mode?
There is no normal/service key like on the older machines.
Thanks

Last time I did this I just made sure the system was not going to be in use and did update_all from SMIT

Isn't the migrate option for major relase upgrades i.e. 3 to 4 ?

As an aside, to get into service mode for these machines, reboot and press F5 on the console as it starts listing keyboard, speaker and so on.

Cheers,
Dave V.
