Since I am fairly new to IP Office, I wanted to go through the steps of upgrading.

I am upgrading and IP403 to 2.1.24 from 2.1.14 (I think, I am not at work right now).

I download the 2.1.27 admin cd and I downloaded the latest version of voicemail pro.

I plan to pull a cfg file for backup.

Then uninstall voicemail pro, and reinstall the upgraded version of voicemail pro.

Uninstall the old version of admin tools.

Next I will install the new admin cd and using the upgrade function from the new manager version launch the upgrade wizard.

I also am running delta server for smdr information. I would think I would need to reinstall that also?

Anything I am missing?

Export your voicemail Pro database also, and import it after the upgrade. And, take note of the email settings in the VMPro item in the control panel as those will be lost in the upgrade.

I'm assuming you typo'd the 2.1.24 since you've indicated you've downloaded 2.1.27 which is the current release.

Also, have you noticed that 2.1.14 is not the entire CD? If you're not on it already you'll also need to download 2.1.10. You install it then extract the files from the .14 zip file directly into the \program files\avaya\ip office\voicemail pro\vm directory before rebooting (if you forget and reboot first just stop the voicemail pro service, extract the files, then start it again).

Yes you'll install the new version of delta server (4.0.36 it's on the avaya website).

Oh - on the off chance that your 403 was running 1.x firmware you'll need to be carefull to upgrade to 1.99 first, then 2.1.27

Thanks for the reply.

Ok, now that I am at work,

The IP403 is at version 2.1.15 and I am upgrading to 2.1.27, and the voicemail is at 2.1.5.

So I need to upgrade the voicemail to 2.1.10 first then uninstall it and install the new version (after exporting call flows)?

No,

just upgrade your ipo to 2.1.27 , then upgrade your vm to 2.1.14.

You don't actually NEED to upgrade the VMPro - but it's very easy to do (and keeps you in Avaya's good books).

Upgrade to 2.1.10 first (this actually updates quite a few files - not just the service file).

Then, stop the Voice Mail Pro service, extract the vmprov5svc.exe file to the 'C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM' directory (over-writing the existing one) and then re-start the service.

Bingo - one upgraded VMPro :).

cheers

I am going to do this upgrade tonight.
