Hi,

We are looking at upgrading our BOE XI r2 server from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005. We have minimal SQL processing occuring on this machine (such as DTS), and it is mainly used for the APOS KPI SQL database, and the BOE11 SQL database, both populated via OBDC.

Has anyone done this, and do I need to be aware of any issues with these database when upgrading from 2000 to 2005?

Thanks,

In theory no, but one poster a month or two back mentioned problems afterwards that I believe were the result of having changed permissioming/rights on the new SQL Server.

If you're just upgrading the existing, I would think it would be fine, but have a back up recovery plan in place, that you've tested.

A common mistake with SQL Server people is they thiink conventional back up restore software will work, andlater find that the actual database file itself has NEVER been backed up because the file is always locked.

I'd certainly stop all BOE services during the upgrade as well.
