I hope this is in the correct forum...

I am currently using a full blown installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (not MSDE 2000 SP4) to house an application back-end database. Support for this application using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 has ceased, therefore, I have been recommended to 'upgrade' to SQL Server Express 2005 (or even possibly 2008), which are free products from Microsoft.

My questions are...

Does an upgrade path exist? – Ie. Full blown Microsoft SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server Express 2005?

Can anyone explain the upgrade process. Ie. Execute the SQL Server Express 2005 installation file, and follow the prompts?

I understand that it would involve an 'in-place' upgrade?

I've searched through Google, and can't find anything concrete, so any comments, suggestions, or links highly welcome!

Cheers!
