upgrading SQL for sharepoint

I have SQL server 2005 installed and running and is the back-end for Sharepoint (MOSS) 2007. The SQL version is,
9.00.1399.06 RTM Enterprise Edition

I know there is SP1, SP2 and a bunch of updates after that for SQL 2005. Does anyone have experience updating SQL from RTM to SP2 for sharepoint. If so, could you post your steps. Some things I am not sure are if I should shutdown the sharepoint web server. After upgrading SQL, is there anything I need to change on sharepoint?

Please advice. Links, howtos would be great as well.
