Hi all,
Has anyone been able to succesfully upgrade FP2SP3 to SP4 on a Server edition?

I've had 4 failed attempts so far.

Attempt1:
A running FP2 SP3 with full ocnfiguration (a labsystem).
The upgrade stalled at some point, some components were upgraded, others were not.
The upgrade files per service were visible in the Webcontrol so I was able to upgrade the services manually, but the IPO config (users, groups, etc ..) were completely gone.

Attempt2:
Setups a trainingserver for our engineers on R11FP2SP3
Clean setup, not a lot of config in it.
Attempt to upload the ISO of FP2SP4 using Winscp into the /tmp/iso folder on the IPO SE. This failed, each time I got an error: in winscp: "received ssh2_msg_channel_data for nonexistent channel 0"
So I tried uploading ISO via webmanager. This was succesfull.
I started the update of the server via Webmanager: got the famous: "Upgrade Failed: Failing at task "Pull Upgrade"
Gave up. Removed the server from VMware and started allover.

Attempt 3 today:
Clean server on FP2 SP3, just installed it. Did the ignition and setup wizard. Immediatly tried to upgrade it:
Same as attempt 2 -> transfer via WINSCP always fails.
Giving up again...

Just a note: I've done dozens of upgrades of IP Office pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrong.

Another note: Don't use & or $ in your passwords on FP2SP3 or FP2 SP4.
These do not work.
The pw's don't work on Webcontrol 7071 and don't work on the Linux local Administrator or Linux root password.

Thanks Fr0gg3r

I had to pick myself up off the floor once I had laughed enough. This is a repeat issue from a previous release that certain characters cause issues. I give you some pink for getting this info onto here.

How fracking hard can it be to get this under control.

If you give more information you will get better answers. If you only give bits and pieces then you will get the same back and maybe not fitting your problem.

@Westi While you laughing on the floor, I was most likely crying on the floor... again ...

Anyone have a solution? Cause of the issues?

regards

Ok I have few options to try. not sure if they will work but, has for me in past when I got error Upgrade Failing at Task 'Pull upgrade' step pulling inventory.

1. Using the Web Manager clear clear Local Cache before uploading ISO.
2.On a PC, Start sysmon and enable HTTP + Development tracing. On same PC Reopen Web Manager and start upgrade.
