Upgrading Revisions or Merlin Magix

I have a Merlin Magix r4.7. It recently crapped out and needs to be replaced. Curious how to know if i buy one from someone, how i can tell what revision it is. Also, if it isnt the lastest revision, how can i go about upgrading it?

If you replace the processor, online vendors like Metrolinedirect, will list the firmware on their site. R4 V4.7 is the final software release for the Magix processor.
