Hello Everyone,

Thank you for all your help throughout the years.

I have a CPA firm that I help setup a server about 5 years ago with RAID 1 "Mirror". Since then, they have used up all their storage and now it's time for them to upgrade the server.

I was thinking to save them money, we can just upgrade the harddrive. Since it is mirror, is it possbile to replace one of the hardrive with a bigger one, let that mirror, then replace the second hard drive and let it mirror again?

Has anyone done it this way?

The other way I can do is use Norton Ghost! But how will this affect the image if i change the harddrive?

Thanks for reading the my post, any help or ideas would be most helpful.. Thanks a bunch!

Do an ASR Backup with NTBackup. Replace the drives and restore the ASR.

If you replace a drive in the mirror it will need a partition the same size as the other, so no gain in space. You could do this and then break the mirror and use Partition Magic to increase the partition size, then replace the second drive and re-establish the mirror.

Before you break the mirror I still suggest performing an ASR backup.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
