Hi all, I have a customer that has a 406V2. I was going to upgrade from 3.2.53 to 5.0.8. They have 4 analog lines in the system. Will anything be affected by the upgrade? I've only worked on theses systems when they have PRI service.
Also, they just ordered caller ID on the lines and when calls come in the phone displays "External Main". I've done some searching on this forum and the only thing I see that I might need to change is in Lines- Analog Options- Trunk type. I have this set as loop start, but I read that it should be loop start ICLID.
Thanks in advance,
Brian

if you read up on what intrigrant posted you will be fine. the only other thing to note is that in the Uk, adding caller id adds two rings to inbound calls before they actually ring at the system, not sure if its the same in your location. not usually a problem, but something to be aware of.

intrigrant, star for the rss feed, never seen that posted before.

Thanks for the help guys. Also, thanks for the link.

@TomMills

CLI on Analog Trunks add 2 rings here in the states as well too. Just FYI. And I've had a lot of people complain about it actually.

you in the states? i guess you guys use Analog a lot more than we do for small businesses. i probably only look after about 10 sites with analog trunks. Easier to ignore the moaning :)

Yeah - I keep forgetting those RSS feeds.... cheers for the reminder. makes finding docs easy!

Hey, hairlesssupportmonkey, I did read the manual. But some people just need further clarification on even the simplest of things. I don't work on these systems often, but when I do and I ask a question here I'm glad that most people are patient enough to answer my questions. I'm not trying to stir anything up. I'm just stating my opinion.
Thanks
