Upgrading Peachtree 2000 to a more recent version 2

I just started work for a small company which has Peachtree 2000. They would like to update to a newer version of Peachtree Accounting, but I am not sure which version I can upgrade to from 2000 without losing any data. Does anyone know if there is a site with a matrix which will tell me what the highest version of Peachtree from 2000? Also if there are any conversion utilities to convert 2000 to a more recent version? Thank you in advance for the assistance. D.

I think that Peachtree had a special program called Peachtree 2000 that it discontinued. There was also a 2000 edition of Peachtree which is totally different. So you need to be very specific. Upgrading the 2000 edition of Peachtree should be easy. Not sure if there is an upgrade for Peachtree 2000.

We are running Peachtree 2000 Powerful Accounting for the Next Century (5.0 Release). Do you know if I can upgrade to Peachtree 2008 and retain all of our data? Thanks.

It sounds to me you have the orphan edition, Have you contacted Peachtree and asked them. Peachtree is now a part of Sage. Never knew anyone who bought it. That was the problem it just didn't sell.

Bill is correct. There is no conversion from Peachtree 2000 to the current Peachtree products of Peachtree 2008.

You may be able to export list information (customers, vendors, chart of accounts, inventory item id's, etc.) and then import them into Peachtree 2008. You will need to modify the export files so Peachtree 2008 can accept the information, however.
