What is the process for upgrading an ACS R2? I think i need to upgrade to a R6 for the transfer CLID. The system i have has been in place for some time (obviously) and I dont want to have to go around and reprogram all the speed dials, etc...

Is there an easy way to go from R2 to R6 and keep all the existing programming? or do i have to start from scratch?

I currenlty have an ACS proceesor with a PC Upgrade card, and Backup\restore card.

All you need is an R6.0 upgrade card. Most likely this will also be a backup/restore and provide remote access. Simply power down the system, remove the existing card and replace it with the new card. Power up the system and it will load, you will see the LED flash red until done then turn the normal green.

All your programming will be saved. I suggest that you immediately do a backup to save the programming to the new card. You can then go through and and change any programming that is new to the R6.0 if you want.

Hal is correct, however, watch for minor program corruption. I've seen the same line button assigned twice on a phone (not possible normally). The other fault is lines programmed that do not exist on the system. I'm sure other things can go wrong also.
The best way to check for weird stuff in programming is to use PC Administration. Otherwise, the upgrade is a snap to do.
