Upgrading our Pervasive.SQL

We are upgrading our Pervasive.SQL 2000 Server Engine to Pervasive.SQL Server Engine Version 9 (most current).

Should I uninstall the old Pervasive from our Win 2000 Server & XP Workstations before installing the new Pervasive?

I believe Pervasive typically recommends uninstalling. I would go one step further and run the Pervasive System Analyzer after uninstall and "Delete" the Pervasive components and registry settings.
