Any advice? I need to upgrade the Machine where the Exchange Server 5.5 is installed. Running Windows NT4 Server SP6 to upgrade to Windows 2000 Advance Server. And the Exchange Server 5.5 to upgrade to Exchange Server 2000. Is there any difficulty or problem that might result in this upgrading? And what is to be done to avoid it? Please I need advice.

that type of migration is bloody. Is suggest you get a new machine and configure it as an AD controller , then install exchange 2k on that machine. Use Active Directory Migration tool to migrate the users and mailbox from the 5.5 machine to the new exchange machine.If you perfrom the upgrade of the NT machine to 2k, the Exchange Service would probably be lost once the machine is upgraded to an AD controller.
