Hi Guru's

We are looking to upgrade our NIM server which is currently at AIX5.3-TL03. Is there any special requirements when upgrading a NIM server or do we just go ahead and upgrade as if it was just a normal AIX5.3.-TL03 going to AIX5.3-TL05-SP04?

Thanks in advance

Upgrade as normal, and make sure you always keep your NIM 1 level ahead of your clients.

You could backup your nim database first... if you wanted to be careful. Then process with TL upgrade.

You will also want to create a new lppsource and spot at the new OS level. And if you do any alt_disk functions, you will have to update all of your spots to the new level of the alt_disk_install filesets.

mag007,

I thought that at least the same ML / TL + SP as the client was good enough!
Why one level ahead? - or is that just good practice in your experience?
