Upgrading NAV 2000 to NAV 2003

Can anyone out there tell me the preferred way of doing this? Should completely uninstall NAV 2000 and do a new install of NAV 2003, or Install NAV 2003 over the top of NAV 2000. I know NAV can be a bit picky and testy at times and was curious if one method was more problematic aver the other. My NAV 2000 is running very smooth right now, and wanted to keep the new version that way.
