Hi All,
I am using Gentran Unix 6.0. I wanted to know a simple way to upgrade an ibound 850 map from 3010 to 4010 version. Do I need to recreate my whole map or is there some tool in Gentran which enables me to do that ?
Thanks.

hi all
i have made an upgrade for 850 and 810 from 4010 to 4030 on gentran 5.3 the steps are as follows:

1. Make an implementation guide for the new map. (my case - X12 4030
810 & X12 4030 850 )
2. Open an existing map (ur case - X12 4010 810), select save as from
menu, and save it with the NEW map name (follow ur naming conventions
- look at the existing to decide on a name).
3. compile and check in the new map
4. Check in the existing map
5. Select Standard Version Conversion from the tools menu.
6. Select the NEW implementation guide and the NEW map(to find the new
map you will be searching through for the new version of the existing
map)
7. Click OK
Open & recompile the new map (it will be checked out)
8. Check in the new map
10. You need to set the new map to make sure that the conversion was
completed correctly. Two common problems are that segments that are
not found in the NEW
Ig will be added to the end (after IEA segment) and that dates will be
in the wrong format.
