upgrading mandrake 9.1 to 10.1

hi, I currently have mandrake 9.1 installed and I'm downloading iso images of mandrake 10.1. Do i need to do a clean install or can I do an upgrade?

I did an upgrade from 9.1 to 10 community and it went completely wrong and I had to do a completely fresh install. Not tried to upgrade with 10.1 though..

yip, I did it too, and it lost my password, so I then did a install, and it went ok, even kept my data .
