How does one go about upgrading HPUX? Where can I get the patches?

You can upgrade from the install cd's, however, wouldn't recommend it - best to rebuild from scratch, a nice clearout and a fresh start.

I built many systems, no issues. I've upgraded 2 and both had problems, even though I followed the recommended procedure.

What is the recommended procedure? Does it have a migration path, similar to AIX? Or do I break rootvg's mirror and install it on other one, and boot off the new mirror?

HP offer documentation about upgade, has been a while since I've done it, seem to recall you just run whatever the command was and leave it to it.

I really would recomend a re-build, yes, takes longer and is more hard work, but the final outcome is that you know exactly where you are.

I work for a large company (+1800 servers, of various types) and as a rule we never "upgrade", always rebuild - have had too many issues.
