Hello fellow techies...

I have a need to upgrade one of my Windows 2000 Standard Servers to Windows 2000 Advanced server. I was under the impression that I can just put in the Advanced Server CD and it will ask me to upgrade it. HOWEVER....

I get a message saying that I cannot upgrade 2000 Server SP4 to Advanced Server SP4. The CDs I am using have the SP integraded.

Is there a way around this? Can I upgrade this server or am I looking at re-building it???

Thanks for the help.

The Microsoft answer is that there is no upgrade path from Windows 2000 Server to Advanced Server. According to them, you need to reinstall.

Personally, I never upgrade an operating system. I look at it as a good opportunity for a fresh install.
