Hello
I want to upgrade sql6.5 to sql7.
i'll use adifferent machine for the sql7 and i'm going to copy and convert the databases from sql6.5 with the sql7 upgrade wizard.
I want to maintain the SQL SERVER NAME AND IP ADDRESS to be same as the original server.
How can I do that? is it possible without athird machine?

i'll be glad to have an advice.

I'm not an NT wizard, but I assume you are going to have to shut down completely the original machine, or disconnect it from the network, or change its name/IP address, before giving those attributes to the new machine.
