We're still running the last version of BENT released by Seagate (I believe it's version 7) on Windows NT 4, but want to upgrade to the latest Veritas release.
We need to continue to use all the backup tapes we've made with the Seagate version. Does anyone have any experience with this migration? Can you still use the previous version's tapes? (We've been using BENT as more of an "archiving" solution as opposed to a "backup" solution which is why we still need to access numerous legacy tapes). Are there any trick shots associated with using the legacy tapes--like having to re-inventory every tape or something equally as painful?
We can go to W2K if necessary to support the latest release of BENT (once again as long as the legacy tapes are supported).
Thanks,
Ken Scoville
